The ending of my book, unlike most books, solved the main conflict of the story. The only conflict that was relieved was the sight of Leo on the ferry as it came closer to the island. The whole book was based on Kaelyn's journal entries to her friend Leo throughout the epidemic. I do not think that the author did a good job on the ending of the book, but there may be a sequel to this novel. The main conflicts was all based around Kaelyn. Between Kaelyn sending endless journal entries to Leo, falling in love with Gav and being able to physically and mentally survive the virus outbreak this book is the conflict of a teenage life. With a hint of a life consuming virus. Besides the fact they never cured the virus in my book, it ended with less and less people coming into the hospital, This could be because the whole town is almost dead, or people have managed to keep a highly sanitary lifestyle. For a small secluded island they did do a very good job dealing with this conflict.
I am very glad I chose to read this book and I recommend to anyone that is into this type of novel.
Question ☻
If Bradford ever became a quarantined town because of a virus what would you do? Extrapolate on your survival techniques to see if anyone in the class would be your survival buddy.
The first thing I would do would be gathering supplies. The supplies I would get would be water, food, medical, tools and weapons (Knife, bow and arrow, etc) because once we are quarantined I am sure no one will follow any laws so you need supplies to live on and to protect yourself and others around you. I know how to start camp fires, I know basic medical techniques (tourniquets, disinfect cuts, and splints), I also know how to setup traps. So if I needed a survival buddy I need someone who can cook, gather supplies, and who can defend themselves on their own. I would pick Andrew Ciglic. But if this all fails I will try to get out of the quarantine zone by sneaking out or by force.
